Disclosed is a fuel cell wherein a complex-forming compound which is capable of forming a complex with hydrogen peroxide is dispersed and added in a membrane-electrode assembly. As the complex-forming compound, Ti(SO4)2 is preferable. In this fuel cell, harmful hydrogen peroxide generated during operation of the fuel cell can be removed from the cell, thereby suppressing deterioration of the electrolyte membrane or the electrolyte in the electrode catalyst layer caused by hydrogen peroxide. Consequently, the fuel cell is improved in durability.

La présente invention concerne une pile à combustible, un composé formant un complexe qui est capable de former un complexe avec le peroxyde d~hydrogène étant dispersé et ajouté dans un ensemble d'électrodes à membranes. Le Ti(SO4)2 est préférable comme composé formant un complexe. Dans cette pile à combustible, le peroxyde d~hydrogène nocif généré pendant le fonctionnement de la pile à combustible peut être retiré de la pile, supprimant ainsi la détérioration de la membrane électrolyte ou de l~électrolyte dans la couche catalytique de l~électrode engendrée par le peroxyde d~hydrogène. Par conséquent, la durabilité de la pile à combustible est améliorée.
