Novel peptides are provided involving sequences from proteins or interest which include a motif comprising a charged amino acid, followed by two hydrophobic amino acids, followed in the next or succeeding position by a polar amino acid, where the charged or polar amino acid may be substituted by glycine. Peptides having the motif are found to be stimulatory to T-cells and allow for modulation of immune response, as illustrated by tolerizing the host to neurological proteins.
