26474-93 ABSTRACT New peptides of the formula I I X-Z-NR2-CHR3CHOH-(CHR4)n-CO-E wherein X, for example, represents H, H-(NHCH2CH2)n-NH-CH2CO- or 9- fluorenyl-CmH2m-O-CO- Z represents 1 to 4 amino acid radicals bonded to each other in peptide form, R2 and R4 each represent H or C1-C8-alkyl, R3 represents a cycloalkyl-containing moiety, E represents OH, OA, NH2, NHA or NA2 wherein A represents C1-C8 alkyl, and m is 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 and n is 1 or 2, and their salts inhibit the activity of human plasma renin.
