ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A novel peptide represented by formula (I): Boc-Cys(Acm)-Val-Cys(Acm)-Val-Pro-ONSu (1) wherein Boc indicates a tertiary butyloxycarbonyl group, Acm indicates an acetamidomethyl group, and ONSu indicates an N-oxysuccinimido group. This peptide can be produced by way of intermediates represented by formulas (2), (3), and (4): Boc-Val-Cys(Acm)-Val-Pro-OMe (2) Boc-Cys(Acm)-Val-Cys(Acm)-Val-Pro-OMe (3) Boc-Cys(Acm)-Val-Cys(Acm)-Val-Pro-OH (4) wherein OMe indicates a methoxy group.
