Abstract of the Disclosure Novel peptides of the formula: Image (I) wherein A is hydrogen, alkyl, aralkyl, alkoxyalkyl; hydroxyalkyl or alkoxy; R is Image or Image ; and X is -S-or -(CH2)n-, where n is 1 or 2, and pharmaceutically acceptable salts are disclosed. The peptides (I) and their pharmaceutically acceptable salts have a weaker TSH releasing activity than TRH and a stronger anaesthesia- antagonistic activity, spontaneous movement-stimulant activity or dopamine- potentiating activity than TRH.
