The invention relates to a method and culture medium for in vitro culturing eucaryotic cells requiring glutamine, which comprises the use of a protein hydrolysate obtained by enzymatic hydrolysis of a protein material. The protein hydrolysate has a free amino acid level of less than 15 % by weight and the protein hydrolisate have molecular weight below 44 kD. The protein hydrolysate preferably contains at least 20 % of glutamine residues. Also, preferably at least 90 % by weight of the peptides have a molecular weight below 1000 D and the average peptide chain length preferably is below 15 amino acid residues.
L'invention concerne un procédé et un milieu de culture destinés à la culture in vitro de cellules eucaryotes nécessitant glutamine, ce procédé consistant à utiliser un hydrolysat de protéines obtenu à partir d'une hydrolyse enzymatique d'un matériau contenant des protéines. Cet hydrolysat présente un taux d'acide aminés libres inférieur à 15 % en poids, un poids moléculaire inférieur à 44 kD et il contient, de préférence, au moins 20 % de restes de glutamine. De même, au moins 90 % en poids des peptides possèdent un poids moléculaire inférieur à 1000 D et la longueur moyenne d'une chaîne de peptides est, de préférence, inférieure à 15 restes d'acides aminés.
