PRECIS DE LA DIVULGATION: La présente invention concerne des dérivés peptidi- ques de formule générale: R - X - Y - Statyl1 Ala - Statyl2 - R' (I) dans laquelle Statyl1 et Statyl2 représentent le radical dérivant de l'aminoacide statine, R désigne un atome d'hydrogène ou un groupement acylant fixé sur le groupe amino terminal de l'aminoacide X-, X et Y identiques ou différents désignent des acides aminés de configuration L ou D lorsqu'il existe un centre d'asymétrie dans la molécule, non-protégés ou protégés dans leur chaîne latérale, choisis pour X dans le groupe constitué par phénylalanine, trypto- phane, histidine, Boc-histidine, tyrosine, proline et isoleucine, et pour Y dans le groupe constitué par phénylalanine, tryptophane, histidine, tyrosine, proline, leucine, isoleucine, norleucine, valine, norvaline, alanine, glycine, lysine, Z-lysine et acide .alpha.-amino-butyrique, et R' représente H, OH, O-Alkyle inférieur, NH2 ou un groupe NH-R1 dans lequel R1 représente un groupe alkyle inférieur ou un aralkyl inférieur. Ces nouveaux dérivés présentent un niveau d'activité élevé sur l'inhibition de la rénine et de la pepsine. L'invention concerne également un procédé pour la préparation des dérivés de formule (I).
