Methods for preparing compositions for use in electrotransport delivery systems. The method includes providing a drug solution comprising drug ions and associated counterions; adjusting the pH of the drug solution by contacting the drug solution with a ion exchange material first; separating the ion exchange material from the pH-adjusted drug solution; and buffering the pH-adjusted drug solution with a buffer. A peptidic buffer is preferably used. The methods result in compositions suitable for use in electrotransport delivery systems.

L'invention porte sur des procédés de préparation de compositions qui s'utilisent dans des systèmes d'administration par électrotransport. Ce procédé consiste à fournir une solution de médicaments contenant des ions de médicament et des contre-ions associés ; à ajuster le pH de la solution de médicaments en mettant en contact la solution de médicaments d'abord avec un matériau d'échange ionique ; à séparer le matériau d'échange ionique de la solution de médicaments à pH ajusté ; et à mettre en tampon la solution de médicaments à pH ajusté au moyen d'un tampon. De préférence, un tampon peptidique est utilisé. Ces procédés permettent d'obtenir des compositions qui conviennent à des systèmes d'administration par électrotransport.
