ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method and composition for improving the body of hair comprising an aqueous solution of an organic peracid and a foam-forming agent comprising an organic surfactant and a fatty acid amide having from 10 to 21 carbon atoms. At the time of application to the hair, the oxidizing agent and the foam producing solution are combined to form a pourable foam which is applied to the hair.
