A percutaneous absorption type cerebral protective agent containing as an active ingredient, 0.1 to 30 percent by mass of 3-methyl-1-phenyl-2-pyrazolin- 5-one represented by the following formula: (see above formula) or a medically acceptable salt thereof in a base; a use of the compound as an active ingredient for the manufacture of a percutaneous absorption type pharmaceutical composition for protecting brain; and a method of protecting brain comprising administering to a patient the pharmaceutical composition as an active ingredient.

L'invention concerne un agent protecteur cérébral du type administré par absorption percutanée, qui se caractérise en ce qu'il comprend une base et 0,1 à 30 % en poids d'une 3-méthyl-1-phényl-2-pyrazolin-5-one représentée par la formule (1), ou bien un sel médicalement acceptable de celle-ci, qui constitue le principe actif contenu dans la base. L'invention concerne également l'utilisation de ce composé comme principe actif pour la production d'une composition médicinale du type administré par absorption percutané, pour la protection du cerveau, ainsi qu'un procédé de protection du cerveau qui consiste à administrer cette composition médicinale à un patient comme substance active.
