A capsule-shaped prosthetic spinal disc nucleus (20) for implantation into a human intradiscal space (60), made of a substantially inelastic constraining jacket (24) surrounding an amorphous polymer core (22). The constraining jacket (24) has a generally fixed maximum volume and defines a height. The amorphous polymer core (22) fills an initial volume of the constraining jacket (24) and develops an internal pressure. In response to the internal pressure, the constraining jacket (24) transitions toward the maximum volume, increasing substantially in height.
L'invention concerne un noyau (20) de disque intervertébral prothétique en forme de capsule conçu pour être implanté dans un espace intradiscal (60) d'un sujet humain, formé d'une enveloppe (24) de confinement sensiblement non élastique entourant un noyau polymère (22) amorphe. L'enveloppe de confinement (24) présente en général un volume maximum fixe et définit une hauteur. Le noyau polymère amorphe (22) occupe un volume initial de l'enveloppe de confinement (24) et développe une pression interne. En réaction à la pression interne, l'enveloppe de confinement (24) atteint un volume maximum, augmentant ainsi sensiblement sa hauteur.
