2119641 9403327 PCTABS00030 A panel (10) of perforated thermoplastic material having sound and shock dampening characteristics comprised of a perforated honeycomb core (16) and either whole or perforated facing sheets (18, 20), thermal compression bonded to the core. The core can be faced on one side only, or on both sides to create a pad or panel of such material. Furthermore, the outer facing can be sealed together to form a hermetically sealed chamber the shock-absorbing characteristics of which can be selectively controlled.

L'invention concerne un panneau (10) en matériau thermoplastique perforé présentant des propriétés d'isolement phonique et d'amortissement des chocs. Ledit panneau est constitué d'une âme (16) en nid d'abeilles perforé et de feuilles de revêtement (18, 20) partiellement ou entièrement perforées liées à l'âme par compression thermique. L'âme peut être apprêtée sur seulement une face ou les deux pour former une plaque ou un panneau de ce matériau. De plus, les couches extérieures peuvent être scellées entre elles de manière à former une chambre fermée hermétiquement dont les propriétés d'amortissement des chocs peuvent être modulées sélectivement.
