A perforating device for the production of a plurality of apertures in a sheet-like material each aperture has an opening arid a rearwardly folded flap which adjoins a rear zone of the opening. The device has a perforating roller having perforating members disposed circumferentially an the surface thereof and an anvil roller parallel and adjacent the perforating roller having circumferentially grooves formed therein. Sheet material is fed between the two rollers. The individual flaps are then folded against the sheet material. A method and sheet material are also disclosed.
