A flashing pan with built in perforators and a drip edge designed to facilitate the expulsion of moisture and vapor from the interstitial space of wood framed wall systems as well as from exterior finish surfaces. This is necessitated by the fact that the predominant practice of using and enclosing wet materials during wall framing; and from the continuous process of moisture condensation within wall spaces creates a state of deleteriously wet interstitial cavity elements. This system will effectively relieve these problems by providing a gravitational path for the evacuation of moisture and vapor though the use of soleplate perforations in conjunction with a particular wood plate configuration, which mandates a plate projection beyond the exterior edge of the footing. The flashing drainage system consists of a horizontal flat metallic plate, which is meant to fit over a typical soleplate and spanning from the edge of the anchor bolt washer (for the foundation soleplate) to the exterior edge of the plate. In addition there are to be securely affixed to the first top plate a pair of square shaped perforators protruding from said plate and of a sufficient thickness, and length to be able to perforate the wooden soleplate at spaced intervals prior to the installation of the studs sufficient to provide a minimum of two holes between each pair of wooden studs in the wall assembly. The perforation are accomplished during the installation through the use of a smooth faced framing hammer and is facilitated through the tapered configuration of the protrusions into triangular teeth which begin to triangulate at about two thirds the distance down the length of each rectangular perforator. In the process of installation a wooden plug is produced within the confines of each perforator. These plugs will self-extract during the process of hammering in the perforator teeth. Alternatively, for a few rare instances the wooden plug may not fall until a time period sufficient for them to loose moisture and shrink takes place. The shrinkage will subsequently cause them to fall out of their own accord. The resulting perforations will allow moisture collecting within the wall cavity as well as vapor build up to be vented out of the interstitial wall space. As a secondary function, this system will provide extended flashing elements of sufficient size to facilitate the process of harmless rainwater removal from outer wall systems utilizing any configuration, but in particular the singular requirements of a rain screen configuration.
