Esters of perfume alcohols having at least one free carboxylate group are provided. The esters have general formula (I), wherein R is selected from the group consisting of substituted or unsubstituted C1-C30 straight, branched or cyclic alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, alkylaryl or aryl group; R' is a perfume alcohol with a boiling point at 760 mm Hg of less than about 300 ~C; and m and n are independently an integer of 1 or greater. The esters are employed as perfume components in laundry and cleaning compositions such as fabric softening compositions.
L'invention porte sur des esters d'alcools de substances parfumées comportant au moins un groupe carboxylate libre. Les esters répondent à la formule générale (I) dans laquelle R est choisi dans le groupe constitué d'un groupe alkyle, alcényle, alkynyle, alkylaryle ou aryle substitué ou non substitué, linéaire, ramifié ou cyclique, comportant de 1 à 30 atomes de carbone et dans laquelle R?1¿ est un alcool de substance parfumée dont le point d'ébullition est, à 760 mm de mercure, inférieur à 300 ·C environ et ou m et n sont, indépendamment, un entier de 1 ou supérieur. On emploie ces esters comme composants parfumés pour des compositions lessivielles et détachantes comme des compositions adoucissantes pour tissus.
