Apparatus, and methods are provided for delivering oxygenated blood to a patient undergoing cardiac surgery using a perfusion catheter (65) having a distal end carrying first (71), second (72) sealing members. When the perfusion catheter is inserted through an arteriotomy site, the first, and second sealing members are disposed to engage opposite sides of a vessel (A) to apply pressure against the opposite surfaces of the thickness to seal blood perfused into the vessel from leaking through the arteriotomy site. Apparatus for placing the perfusion catheter, and methods of using the apparatus are also provided.
L'invention concerne un appareil et des procédés d'administration de sang oxygéné à un patient subissant une opération chirurgicale cardiaque, au moyen d'un cathéter (65) de perfusion doté d'une extrémité distale comportant un premier (71) et un deuxième élément de scellement. Lorsqu'on introduit le cathéter de perfusion dans un site d'artériotomie, le premier et le deuxième élément de scellement sont disposés de manière à être en contact avec des côtés opposés d'un vaisseau (A) pour exercer une pression contre les surfaces opposées de l'épaisseur et empêcher par scellement une fuite, par le site d'artériotomie, du sang perfusé dans le vaisseau. L'invention concerne également un appareil permettant de placer le cathéter de perfusion et des procédés d'utilisation de l'appareil.
