Abstract of the Disclosure An oral composition for the care of the mouth and teeth, char- acterized in that it contains a compound of the formula Image I wherein R1 and R2, which may be the same or different, are hydrogen atoms, alkyl groups having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, cycloalkyl radicals, aralkyl radicals or aromatic or heterocyclic groups, whereby both R1 and R2 can be substituted. These compositions possess desirable antimicrobial properties, and thus assist in combatting plaque and caries.
