Improved perimeter weighted golf clubs are closed. The perimeter weighted golf clubs of the present invention are provided with improved structures for dis- tributing the weight at the perimeter of the club head. In one embodiment, the club head (22) has a club face (28) with a hitting surface (38) and a spacer (40) outboard of the hitting surface which connects the hitting surfaces and the weighted perimeter (42) of the club head. The spacer can be any suitable structure, such as a thinned portion or a lighter weight portion of the club head. In another embodiment, the club head has a tubular frame which sur- rounds and supports at least a portion of the hitting surface. In these or other embodiments, the club head can have a structure that facilitates the desired rotation of the club face when the club is swung.
L'invention concerne des clubs de golf présentant une répartition améliorée de poids sur leur périphérie. Ces clubs sont pourvus de structures améliorées qui permettent de répartir le poids au niveau du périmètre de leur tête. Dans un mode de réalisation, la tête du club (22) possède une face (28) comportant une surface de frappe (38) et un élément d'écartement (40) à l'extérieur de la surface de frappe qui relie ladite surface à la périphérie chargée en poids (42). Cet élément d'écartement peut consister en toute structure appropriée, telle qu'une partie amincie ou plus légère de la tête. Dans un autre mode de réalisation, la tête possède un cadre tubulaire entourant et supportant au moins une partie de la surface de frappe. Dans l'un ou l'autre de ces modes de réalisation, la tête du club peut présenter une structure facilitant la rotation souhaitée de la face du club, quand on effectue le mouvement de swing.
