BROWN and MOSHE-AHARON FROMMER for PERITONEAL ARTIFICIAL KIDNEY ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A peritoneal artificial kidney in which a prepared solution is circulated through the peritoneal cavity and the resulting peritoneal fluid containing unwanted toxic metabolites is withdrawn from the cavity and passed through filtration means that permits essentially only passage of pure water while rejecting the metabolites. The filtered peritnonal fluid is then reconstituted with a controlled make-up solution for recycle to the peritoneal cavity and the rejected residue is discharged as waste.
