ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention relates to a clasp which protects magnetic records from being adversely affected by the magnetic induction lines of a magnet. The clasp has a male and female member with the female member having a washer type magnet in a non-magnetic casing. The magnetic circuit gap is concentrated at the hole in the centre of the washer type magnet. The invention may be used as a clasp or lock for bags, boxes, bands or chains and has wide application for suitcases, hand-bags, purses.
