NEUTRALIZATION OF PEROXIDE CATALYZED ZINC PHOSPHATE SOLUTIONS ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Disclosed is a process fox replenishing a peroxide catalyzed zinc phosphate conversion coating solution wherein the ratio of free to total P2O5 is maintained by the addition of a neutralizing ammonium or alkali metal phosphate solution of pH 6.5 - 10. Preferably, the peroxide is also included in the neutralizing solution. Advantages include ease of maintaining the. desired free to total P2O5 ratio, improved stability of the peroxide, and increased zinc ion solubility compared to alternative neutralization techniques.
