ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Novel peroxyketals having the general formula Image are provided. The peroxyketals can be used to advantage for intiating the copolymerisation reaction of ethylenically unsaturated compounds such as unsaturated polyester resins containing both an unsaturated polyester and an ethylenically unsaturated monomer such as styrene. Process for preparing these peroxyketals are also disclosed.
