A system for monitoring an individual includes a sensor configured to detect the presence or absence of the individual at a location. A programmable logic controller is coupled to the sensor and configured to receive a signal from the sensor indicating the presence or absence of the individual. The programmable logic controller is configured to send an alarm signal to an alarm generating device if the individual is absent from the location at a first preset time, if the individual is present in the location at a second preset time, or if the individual is absent from the location for more than a selected interval of time between the first preset time and the second preset time. A user may place the system in a standby mode to prevent an alarm signal from being sent.
La présente invention concerne un système de surveillance d'un individu qui comporte un capteur configuré pour détecter la présence ou l'absence de l'individu en un lieu. Un contrôleur logique programmable est couplé au capteur et configuré pour recevoir un signal du capteur indiquant la présence ou l'absence de l'individu. Le contrôleur logique programmable est configuré pour envoyer un signal d'alarme à un dispositif générateur d'alarme si l'individu est absent du lieu à un premier instant prédéfini, si l'individu est présent sur le lieu lors à un second instant prédéfini ou si l'individu est absent du lieu pendant une durée supérieure à un intervalle de temps sélectionné entre le premier instant prédéfini et le second instant prédéfini. Un utilisateur peut placer le système dans un mode veille pour éviter qu'un signal d'alarme ne soit envoyé.
