A basket is provided for supporting a person therein on the lift arm of a crane. The basket includes a housing having a floor and telescoping side elements for compacting the housing in storage. A plurality of frame members are mounted adjacent a top end of the housing suspending the housing therefrom. A pivotal mount mounts the frame onto the lift arm of the crane. A locking member is provided for locking the housing at various positions, each corresponding to a different relative angle between the housing and the lift arm.
