A watercraft includes a body arranged to be floatably supported on pontoons and having an occupant seat formed integrally thereon. A pair of paddlewheels positioned rearwardly and on opposing sides of the seat are driven by pedalling action of the occupant. The paddlewheels float in water for partially supporting the body of the watercraft on the surface of a body of water. The wheels each include a continuous peripheral rim surface to protect the paddles which do not project radially beyond the rim surface in shallow water or on land. Locating the wheels rearwardly of the occupant seat can improve manoeuvrability by producing a pushing action on the body of the watercraft to lift the body and reduce drag as it is propelled through the water.
