The present invention provides telephone subscribers with a reverse voice mail system that plays personalized messages left by a subscriber to incoming callers, rather than incoming callers leaving a personalized message to a telephone subscriber. A subscriber is provided with the capability for the one or more unique messages to be delivered to the groups of callers, without the subscriber being required to contact each caller individually. The present invention is implemented with a messaging system host which can be an Intelligent Peripheral (IP) which forms part of the Advanced Intelligence Network (AIN).
