ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention relates to an aqueous auto- depositing coating composition for coating ferrous sur- faces comprising resin, persulfate ion and, optionally, fluoride. The composition is effective in coating said ferrous surfaces by autodeposition at a pH of from about 4 to about 8.5. Also encompassed by the present inven- tion is a method for autodepositing coating on ferrous surfaces comprising immersing the surfaces in the above composition.
