ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention relates to a container for composting biodegradable waste, and particularly a container for composting organic matter. A typical container of the invention comprises side walls and a top portion to define an enclosure therewithin for receiving and retaining the waste, and features at least a part of the side walls and the top portion being removable so as to allow access to the enclosure. The container of the invention is highly pest resistant and features a number of projection formations, in the form of elongated rectangular slabs extending from the side walls of the container lowermost thereof and extending peripherally uniformly around such walls and at an angle thereto so as to present an obstruction to the trajectory of a typical burrowing animal. The container also includes other pest resistant features such as having the walls constructed of pressure treated wood, and by providing air ventilation holes which are sized so as to prevent the egress to the enclosure of small pests such as common household flies and wasps or the like.
