Certain novel (dihalopropenyl)phenylalkyl substituted benzoxazole and benzothiazole derivatives have unexpected insecticidal activity. These compounds are represented by formula (I): where R through R11 , inclusively, x, A, B, y, D, E and G are fully described herein. Preferred compounds of the present invention are those wherein the benzo-fused ring moiety is attached to the remainder of the molecule at the positions designated as (5) or (6) and where R11 is either C1-C3 alkyl or halo C1-C3 alkyl . In addition, compositions comprising an insecticidally effective amount of at least one compound of formula (I), and optionally, an effective amount of at least one of a second compound, with at least one insecticidally compatible carrier are also disclosed; along with methods of controlling insects comprising applying said compositions to a locus where insects are present or are expected to be present.
Selon l'invention, certains nouveaux dérivés de benzoxazole et de benzothiazole à substitution (dihalopropényl)phénylalkyle présentent une activité insecticide inattendue. Ces composés sont représentés par la formule (I), dans laquelle R à R?11¿, y compris x, A, B, y, D, E et G, sont tels que définis dans la description. Les composés préférés de la présente invention sont ceux dont la fraction à cycles benzo-fusionnés est fixée au reste de la molécule au niveau des positions 5 ou 6, R?11¿ étant alkyle C¿1?-C¿3? ou haloalkyle C¿1?-C¿3?. L'invention concerne en outre des compositions comprenant une dose efficace sur le plan insecticide d'au moins un composé de formule (I), et éventuellement une dose efficace d'au moins un second composé, conjointement avec au moins un support compatible sur le plan insecticide, ainsi que des méthodes de lutte contre les insectes consistant à appliquer lesdites compositions sur une zone où les insectes sont présents ou censés l'être.
