A lightweight, portable pet bed (B) having an open platform (10) with a hollow ring (52) around the periphery of the platform. This ring (52) can trap air which provides a thermal barrier for the pet. A thermoelectric unit (16) is mounted to the underside of the pet bed (B) with appropriate ducting (18 and 20) for air circulation, depending on the electrical connection (heating or cooling) provided to a sunken in portion (12) which is integral with the platform (10) in the pet bed. The pet bed (B) can also be provided with holes (48) in the platform (10) to secure an appropriate mat (54) for the pet to lay on and to cover the sink (12) which forms a part of the platform (10). Various shapes are contemplated, including rectangular, round, oval, and the like. The thermoelectric or other heating or cooling units can be manually controlled or thermostatically controlled. The units are stackable for easy storage or for shipping or display.
L'invention concerne un lit (B) portable et léger pour animaux familiers, doté d'une plate-forme ouverte (10) équipée d'un anneau creux (52) sur sa périphérie. L'anneau (52) peut piéger l'air qui constitue une barrière thermique pour ledit animal familier. Une unité thermoélectrique (16) est montée sur la face inférieure du lit (B) pour animaux familiers, avec un conduit approprié (18 et 20) pour la circulation de l'air, en fonction de la connexion électrique (chauffage ou refroidissement) prévue dans un puits (12) faisant partie intégrante de la plate-forme (10) du lit de l'invention. La plate-forme (10) dudit lit pour animaux familiers (B) peut également être dotée d'orifices (48) permettant la fixation d'un matelas (54) sur lequel l'animal familier peut se coucher et pour le recouvrement du puits (12) qui fait partie intégrante de la plate-forme (10). Plusieurs formes sont décrites, dont des formes rectangulaire, ronde, ovale et similaire. Les unités thermoélectriques ou d'autres unités de chauffage et de refroidissement peuvent être commandées manuellement ou par thermostat. Les unités peuvent être empilées de manière à faciliter le stockage, le transport ou la présentation.
