Title Improvement In Or Relating to Petroleum Resins Abstract Light colour polar petroleum resins with improved properties are obtained by reacting a mixture containing tri- and tetra-cyclopentadiene and less than 20 wt.% based on the total content of cyclopentadiene oligomers of dicylopentadiene with an .alpha.,.beta.,unsaturated carboxylic acid. The carboxyl group in the product provides a reactive site for further reactions to produce resins suitable in applications such as pressure sensitive adhesives, hot melt adhesives, ink resins etc and these further reactions and uses of the resins also form the subject of this invention.
