ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In accordance with the present invention, there is now provided an insecticidal composition comprising an effective amount of an insecticidal preparation combined with an adjuvant which has phagostimulative properties. The insecticidal preparation contains Bacillus thuringiensis var. kurstaki as the insecticide. The phagostimulative adjuvant is selected from the group consisting of sucrose (.beta.-D-fructofuranosyl-.alpha.-D-glucopyranoside), proline (2- pyrrolidinecarboxylic acid) and mixtures thereof. The present application also discloses a method of controlling or reducing populations of pest insects. This method comprises the application of the above-mentioned composition to infested plants.
