Abstract of the Disclosure . . The present invention provides a pharmaceu- tical agent for the treatment of myelogenous leukemia that contains a human granulocyte colony stimulating factor (human G-CSF) as the effective ingredient. The pharmaceutical agent of the present invention is effective not only for increasing the number of peripheral mature neutrophiles in patients with mye- logenous leukemia but also for prolonging their lives. Human G-CSFs which are suitable for use in a pharma- ceutical agent of the present invention include ones obtained by isolation from the supernatant of the culture of a human G-CSF producing cell, and a poly- peptide or glycoprotein having G-CSF activity that is obtained by DNA recombinant technology.
