The present invention relates to the field of pharmaceutical technology and in particular to novel dosage forms of medicaments containing as active ingredients simvastatin and ezetimibe, or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof. The present pharmaceutical compositions are characterized in that the contact of the compositions with oxygen is substantially reduced, such as by coating the composition, providing a medicament useful for the treatment and prevention of atherosclerosis and related conditions, in an environment having an essentially reduced oxygen or humidity, respectively, content.

La présente invention concerne le domaine de la technologie pharmaceutique et particulièrement de nouvelles formes posologiques de médicaments contenant de la simvastatine et de l'ézétimibe comme composés actifs, ou bien des sels pharmaceutiquement acceptables de ceux-ci. Les présentes compositions pharmaceutiques se caractérisent en ce que le contact entre les compositions et l'oxygène est particulièrement réduit, par exemple grâce à l'enrobage de la composition, offrant ainsi un médicament utile pour le traitement et la prévention de l'athérosclérose et les affections apparentées, dans un environnement ayant respectivement une teneur en oxygène et une humidité réduites.
