PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITION CONTAINING ERGOT ALKALOIDS Abstract of the Disclosure Natural or hydrogenated ergot alkaloids are made up into a solid solution in a suitable polymer, for example polyvinylpyrrolidone. The solid solution may be formed by evaporating a methanolic solution of the alkaloid and the polymer. Pharmaceutical compositions containing such solid solutions give improved absorption of the alkaloid.
