When combined with a compound having an acetylcholine esterase inhibitory effect, an alkyl ether derivative represented by the following general formula [1] or its salt: [1] wherein R1, R2, R3, R4, m and n are each as defined in the description; synergistically enhances an anti-hypoxia effect. Thus, this combination is useful as a method of improving brain function. A medicinal composition containing the combination of the compounds as described above is useful in treating and preventing dysmnesia caused by intracerebral acetylcholine nerve hypofunction or selective cell death occurring in cerebrovascular dementia, senile dementia, Alzheimer~s disease, after effect of ischemic encephalopathy and cerebral stroke.
La présente invention concerne un dérivé d'alkyle-éther représenté par la formule générale (1) ou l'un de ses sels qui, lorsqu'il est associé à un composé présentant un effet inhibiteur de l'acétylcholine-estérase, renforce par synergie son action anti-hypoxique. Dans cette formule (1), R?1¿, R?2¿, R?3¿, R?4¿ et m sont tels que définis dans la description. Cette association convient pour un traitement visant à améliorer le fonctionnement du cerveau. En l'occurrence, une composition médicinale associant les composés de l'invention convient particulièrement pour le traitement et la prévention de la dysmnésie imputable à l'hypofonction nerveuse de l'acétylcholine intracérébrale ou à la mort cellulaire sélective se produisant en cas de démence cérébrovasculaire ou sénile, de maladie d'Alzheimer par suite d'encéphalopathie ischémique et d'apoplexie.
