The invention relates to pharmaceutical compounds for the treatment of patients which show symptoms of unspecified retarded maturity, such as Alzheimer's disease and other diseases which have an origin in numeric anomalies, deletions or chromosomatic fragility. These compounds include specific non-toxic quantities of, at least one of the follow- ing drugs: a) haloperidol (4-(4-(4-chlorophenol)-4-hydroxy piperidine)-1-(4-fluorophenol)-1-butanone; b) imipramine (10,11- dihydro-N,N-dimetil-5H-dibenz(b,f)-flazepine-5-propanamine; c) trifluoroperazine (10-(3-(4-methyl-1-piperazinil)-propil)-2- trifluoromethyl)-10H-phenotiazine; and also: d) gamma amino butyric acid; e) phenylalanine; f) anti-oxidizing agents, selected between ascorbic acid, vitamin E and mixtures of the same; g) folic acid; h) nicotinamide or pharmaceutical salts acceptable to the same, and i) lithium salts in combination with a pharmaceutically acceptable vehicle.
