ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention relates to an analgesic pharmaceutical composition for treating pain and the symptoms of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug induced gastrointestinal distress comprising an analgesic effective amount of a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug and a gastrointestinal distress relieving effective amount of one or more of an antidiarrheal, antiflatulent, antispasmodic, anticholinergic composition and optionally an antacid in addition thereto and methods of treating the symptoms of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug induced gastrointestinal distress comprising administering such pharmaceutical compositions.
