The present invention relates to pharmaceutical compositions comprising at least one fragment of a polynucleotide, preferably at least one antigen, and optionally a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and/or diluent. In accordance with the present invention was found that the introduction of the pharmaceutical composition into vertebrates will achieve regulation of growth, induction of cellular transcription and translation, protein synthesis, protein expression or protein secretion. The pharmaceutical compositions are useful in vaccination protocols but also in any other therapeutic situation in which immunomodulation is of benefit, such as sub-optimal immune responses, reaction to pathogens, tolerance or autoimmunity.

Cette invention a trait à des compositions pharmaceutiques renfermant au moins un fragment d'un polynucléotide, de préférence au moins un antigène et, éventuellement, un véhicule acceptable du point de vue pharmaceutique et/ou un diluant. Il s'est avéré que l'administration de la composition pharmaceutique de l'invention à des vertébrés permettait de réguler la croissance, d'induire une transcription cellulaire ainsi qu'une traduction génétique et facilitait la synthèse de protéines, l'expression ou la sécrétion protéiques. Ces compositions pharmaceutiques se révèlent des plus utiles, non seulement lors de protocoles vaccinaux mais également lorsque l'on se trouve confronté à toute situation d'ordre thérapeutique dans laquelle l'immunomodulation est bénéfique, notamment des réponses immunitaires sous-optimales, une réaction à des agents pathogènes, une tolérance immunitaire ou l'auto-immunité.
