The invention relates to extracts from Aristolochia taliscana and their uses in medicine, and also to compounds, known and novel isolated from the extracts, and compositions containing the extracts and compounds. The extracts and compounds are useful inter alia as anti-mutagens, antifungal agents and cytotoxic agents. The extracts and compositions of the invention can comprise at least 10 %, preferably at least 20 %, and more preferably at least 25 % by weight of a phenylbenzfuran.
La présente invention concerne des extraits d'Aristolochia taliscana et leurs utilisations en médecine, de nouveaux composés isolés à partir de ces extraits, ainsi que des compositions renfermant ces extraits et ces composés; ces derniers étant utiles notamment comme antimutagènes, agents antifongiques et cytotoxiques. Par ailleurs, les extraits et les composés de cette invention peuvent contenir au moins 10 % en poids de phénylbenzfurane, de préférence au moins 20 %, et plus préférablement au moins 25 %.
