The use of at least one isoform of sulfatide for the production of a pharmaceutical preparation for treatment of a diabetic condition is disclosed. Also a method for treatment of a diabetic condition, wherein a therapeutically effective amount of at least one isoform of sulfatide is administered to a patient, wherein said at least one isoform of sulfatide upon administration to the patient affects the sulfatide metabolism in such a way that it results in an increased amount of sulfatide. Said isoform is preferably an isoform with 8 - 24 carbon atoms in the fatty acid chain, more preferably 14 - 18 carbon atoms, and most preferably 16 carbon atoms.

L'invention concerne l'utilisation d'au moins un isoforme de sulfatide pour produire une préparation destinée au traitement d'un état diabétique. L'invention concerne également un procédé de traitement d'un état diabétique, au cours duquel une dose thérapeutiquement efficace d'au moins un isoforme de sulfatide est administrée au patient, ledit isoforme affectant, dès son administration, le métabolisme sulfatide de façon à produire une dose accrue de sulfatide. Ledit isoforme présente, de préférence, 8 à 24 atomes de carbone dans la chaîne d'acide gras, de préférence encore, 14 à 18 atomes de carbone, et surtout 16 atomes de carbone.
