ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A phase loss detection circuit with transient protection wherein an instantaneous voltage is compared to a peak voltage and an output representative of the comparison is coupled through direct current blocking means such that a phase loss is caused to provide a pulsed output which when integrated is sufficient to provide a trip actuation, but wherein said circuit discrimination against transient conditions to avoid false trip actuation
