ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Novel phenolic esteramide antioxidants protect organic materials such as synthetic and natural rubbers, petroleum products, and plastics from oxidative degradation. These compounds have the formula R1COOANHCOR2, wherein A is C2 to C12 alkylene, C2 to C5 alkylene substituted with one or two -CH2O2C(CH2)2R3 groups, wherein R3 is 3-W-5-Y-4-hydroxy- phenyl, wherein W and Y may be the same or different and are C1 to C12 alkyl, or A is C4 to C8 cycloalkylene or,-(CH2)bCH-0 wherein b is 0 or 1 and O represents C3 to C6 cycloalkyl; and R1 is (-CH2)2R3 and R2 is C1 to C20 alkyl, C6 to C10 aryl, or phenyl substituted with halogen, C1 to C12 alkyl, C1 to C12 alkoxy, nitro, or hydroxy, or R2 is -BCONHAO2CP1 wherein A and R1 are as defined above and B is C1 to C10 alkylene, phenylene, C4 to C12 oxydialkylene or C4 to C12 thiodialkylene; or when A is C2 to C5 alkylene substituted with one or more -CH2O2C)CH2)2R3 groups, than R2 is as defined above or is (CH2)2R3 wherein R3 is as defined above.
