ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Indane-1-carboxylic acid derivatives of the general formula I Image (I), wherein n represents the numbers 2 to 5, ?A-B- represents the groupings ?CH-CH2-, ?C=CH- or ?CH-CO- R1 represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a trifluoromethyl group, a nitro group or an amino group, X1 represents two hydrogen atoms or an oxo group, and Y represents a cyano group, a hydroxyamidocarbonyl group, a car- bamoyl group, a carboxyl group, a salt thereof with physiologi- cally tolerable bases, an ester thereof with physiologically tolerable alcohols or an amide thereof with physiologically tol- erable amines. The compounds are pharmacologically active com- pounds with a pronounced anti-inflammatory activity, or inter- mediates, and can be made up into pharmaceutical preparations.
