The phosphate of the invention is a rare earth element (Ln) phosphate, Ln being at least one rare earth element selected from cerium and terbium or lanthanum combined with at least one of the abovementioned rare earth elements, characterised in that the phosphate is in the form of a suspension in a liquid phase of primary isotropic monocrystalline monazite particles having an average size of at least 25 nm and agglomerated into secondary particles having an average size of at most 400 nm. Said phosphate can be used as a phosphor.

Le phosphate de l'invention est un phosphate de terre rare (Ln), Ln représentant au moins une terre rare choisie parmi le cérium, le terbium ou le lanthane en combinaison avec au moins l'une des deux premières terres rares précitées, caractérisé en ce qu'il se présente sous forme d'une suspension dans une phase liquide de particules primaires de taille moyenne d'au moins 25 nm, isotropes, monocristallines, du type monazite, agglomérées en particules secondaires, de taille moyenne d'au plus 400 nm. Ce phosphate peut être utilisé comme luminophore.
