This invention relates to a phosphorus flame retardant composition formed from bringing together components comprising: a) a cyclic phosphanate flame retardant comprising (5-ethyl-2- methyl-2-oxido-1,3,2-dioxaphosphorinan-5-yl)methyl methyl ester of P-alkylphosphonic acid, and bis[(5-ethyl-2-methyI-2-oxido- 1,3,2-dioxaphosphorinan-5- yl)methyl] ester of P-alkylphosphonic acid; and b) an alkylated triaryl phosphate ester flame retardant having a triphenyl phosphate (TTP) content of less than about 1wt% based on the total weight of the alkylated triaryl phosphate ester. This invention further relates to the use of this phosphorus flame retardant composition especially for in polyurethane foams and textile applications.

Cette invention porte sur une composition ignifugeante au phosphore formée par la mise en contact de composants comprenant : a) un agent ignifugeant phosphanate cyclique comprenant un ester (5-éthyl-2-méthyl-2-oxydo-1,3s2-dioxaphosphorinan-5-yl)méthylméthylique d'un acide P-alkylphosphorique et de l'ester bis[(5-éthyl-2-diéthyl-2-oxydo-1,3,2-dioxaphosphorinan-5-yl)méthylique] d'un acide P-alkylphosphorique; et b) un agent ignifugeant ester de triarylphosphate alkylé ayant une teneur en triphénylphosphate (TTP) inférieure à environ 1 % en poids sur la base du poids total de l'ester de triarylphosphate alkylé. Cette invention porte en outre sur l'utilisation de cette composition ignifugeante au phosphore en particulier dans des applications de mousses de polyuréthane et de textiles.
