A method for oxidising an inorganic species in an aqueous solution comprises the steps of: (i) supplying an oxidisable source of sulphur, and oxygen to the solution; and (ii) irradiating the solution with UV light such that both the inorganic and sulphur species are oxidised.

L'invention porte sur un procédé d'oxydation d'une espèce inorganique dans une solution aqueuse, ce procédé consistant à: (i) amener une source oxydable de soufre et de l'oxygène dans la solution; et (ii) irradier la solution d'ultraviolets de façon à oxyder en même temps l'espèce inorganique et le soufre.
