An apparatus for monitoring and controlling electrical parameter of an imaging surface, the monitoring controlling apparatus including a patch generator for recording a first control patch at a first voltage level and a second control patch at a second voltage level on the imaging surface; electrostatic voltmeter for measuring voltage potentials associated with said first control patch and second control patch. A processor, in communication with said patch generator, calculates the electricalparameters of the imaging surface from the measured voltage potentials from said first and second control patches. The processor determines a deviation between the calculated electrical parameters values and setup values. Then, the processor produces and sends a feedback error signal to said patch generator if said deviation exceed a threshold level. The patch generator records a third control patch at a third voltage level on the imaging surface upon reception of said error signal The ESVsenses said third control patch. The processor calculates the electrical parameters of the imaging surface from the measured voltage potential of the third control patch and determines a correction factor. The charging device, exposure system and developer are adjusted in accordance to said correction factor
L'invention est un appareil servant à surveiller et à contrôler les paramètres électriques des surfaces d'imagerie. Cet appareil comporte un générateur de corrections servant à enregistrer une première correction de contrôle à un premier niveau de tension et une deuxième correction de contrôle à un deuxième niveau de tension sur la surface d'imagerie, et un voltmètre électrostatique servant à mesurer les tensions associées aux deux corrections de contrôle mentionnées. Un processeur, qui est en communication avec ledit générateur de corrections, calcule les paramètres électriques de la surface d'imagerie à partir des tensions mesurées associées aux corrections de contrôle mentionnées. Le processeur détermine l'écart entre les valeurs calculées et les valeurs d'initialisation des paramètres électriques. Il produit ensuite un signal d'erreur qu'il transmet au générateur de corrections si l'écart dépasse un certain seuil. Le générateur de corrections enregistre une troisième correction de contrôle à un troisième niveau de tension sur la surface d'imagerie à la réception du signal d'erreur et le voltmètre électrostatique détecte la troisième correction de contrôle. Le processeur calcule les paramètres électriques de la surface d'imagerie à partir de la tension mesurée associée à la troisième correction de contrôle et détermine le facteur de correction. Le dispositif de charge, le système d'exposition et le révélateur sont ajustés d'après ce facteur de correction.
