A B S T R A C T A photo sequence programmer has a rotary transparent cylinder with a plurality of light-emitting elements disposed inside the cylinder and a plurality of light-receiving elements disposed outside the cylinder, so that each light-emitting ele- ment faces a light-receiving element through the transparent cylinder between them. Opaque tapes are attached on the sur- face of the cylinder in accordance with a predetermined arrange- ment to effect interruption of light being transmitted from the light-emitting elements to the light-receiving elements in a predetermined sequence as said cylinder rotates. A plurality of switching circuits including the light-emitting elements and light-receiving elements are actuatable in response to the interruption of light.
