A photocatalytic reactor (1) for carrying out a photocatalytic reaction on a liquid which is to be treated, the reactor comprising a reaction chamber (2) which comprises: (i) a foraminated member (10) which supports a plurality of mobile photocatalyst particles, the size and density of which is such that they tend to rest on the foraminated member (10) in use; and (ii) an aeration device (14, 16, 18) which causes gas bubbles to rise from the foraminated member and agitate the mobile photocatalyst particles. The reactor may be a flow - through reactor. The photocatalytic reactor can be applied to the remediation of waste water using titanium oxide.

Réacteur photocatalytique (1) destiné à réaliser une réaction photocatalytique sur un liquide à traiter, le réacteur comportant une chambre (2) de réaction comprenant : (i) un élément perforé (10) supportant une pluralité de particules mobiles de photocatalyseur, dont la taille et la densité sont telles qu'elles tendent à reposer sur l'élément perforé (10) en cours d'utilisation ; et (ii) un dispositif (14, 16, 18) d'aération provoquant l'élévation de bulles de gaz depuis l'élément perforé et agitant les particules mobiles de photocatalyseur. Le réacteur peut être un réacteur à flux continu. Le réacteur photocatalytique peut être appliqué à l'assainissement des eaux usées à l'aide d'oxyde de titanes.
